In remembrance of their selfless sacrifice contributing for the liberation of our Telangana from feudal Nizam rule and their services to the poor and downtrodden, family members, friends and admirers of Late Sri. Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao and Smt. Lalita Devi have formally launched a Foundation on their name on 8th September 2018 at 7.00 pm at JRC Convention Centre, Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. About 500 people from all walks of life attended this meeting and made it successful.
The Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao and Lalita Devi Foundation (CRRLDF) is a non-profit organization with the main objective to promote the critical engagement with past and contemporary politics and socio-economic and cultural development particularly in Telangana, India. The foundation focuses on two main activities: it hosts an annual memorial lecture in the honour of Rajeshwara Rao and Lalita Devi and provides funding to individual or collective study and research projects.
Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao and Lalita Devi have been “symbols of selfless service to the people and nurtured joint family tradition excellently” said Sri. Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao, Governor of Maharashtra in his address as Chief Guest at the inauguration of the Foundation. He lauded the services of Chennamaneni Rajeshwara Rao to the peasants community and defined it as example giving to the whole country. The inauguration function was presided by Dr. Ramesh Chennamaneni, who has explained the objectives and proposed activities of the Foundation.
Guest speakers lauded the heroic role of Chennamaneni couple in the historic Telangana Liberation struggle, their selfless service to the poor, the impressive mark of Rajeshwara Rao as legislator for 30 years articulating the interests of poor and the downtrodden as well as their political commitment for social change in the society. In particular the role of Lalita Devi as a women who has consistently supported the ideals of her husband in serving the people as well as managing the large joint family was highly appreciated. Speakers wished the Foundation all success in fulfilling its mission: Deputy Chief Minister Sri. Mehmood Ali Saab, Finance Minister Sri. Eatela Rajendar garu, Home Minister Sri.
